วันนี้ตื่นเช้าขึ้นมาพร้อมกับเสียงบ่นของภรรยาผ่านทางโทรศัพท์ เข้ามาดูว่ามี Joomla! Extension ตัวไหนอัพเดทน่าสนใจบ้าง ผมก้อเลยเพิ่งจะเห็นว่า JoomlaPack เปลี่ยนชื่อเป็น AkeebaBackup แล้ว (ใจจริงผมชอบชื่อเก่ามากกว่า 5555) เปลี่ยนเวอร์ชั่นใหม่จากเดิม 2.4.x เป็น 3.0 แล้วครับ แต่ว่ายังเป็น Alpha Release อยู่
จากแต่เดิม JoomlaPack 2.4.x ได้แบ่งเป็น 2 version คือ JoomlaPack Core และ JoomlaPack Plus ซึ่งตัว JoomlaPack Core นั้นจะเน้นการใช้งานง่าย ติดตั้งปุ๊บใช้ได้ปั๊บ ในขณะที่ JoomlaPack Plus จะแตกต่างกันตรงความสามารถในการปรับตั้งค่า parameter ต่างๆ ได้ละเอียดมากขึ้น ไม่ว่าจะเป็น include/exclude database, table, files, folders ต่างๆ ได้ค่อนข้างอิสระ ซึ่งทั้งสองตัวยังถือว่าเป็น Non-Commercial extension อยู่ครับ
พอมาเป็น AkeebaBackup 3.x ปุ๊บ ก้อแบ่งเป็น AkeebaBackup Core ซึ่งยังคงให้ download ฟรีกันอยู่ครับ ในขณะที่ AkeebaBackup Pro เปลี่ยนมาเป็น subscription service แล้วครับ ซึ่งตอนนี้ยังไม่ออกครับ เพราะว่ายังเป็น alpha release อยู่ คิดว่าจะได้ยลโฉม RC หรือ stable release กันเร็วๆ นี้แน่นอน
